Sanctuary Review – Untouchable

With Helen back in control of the Sanctuary after the release of those from hallow earth, the UN now wants to have their people look over everything inside the sanctuary and regulate what they do. The UN head of the security council comes to Magnus and tells her they must have unfettered access in their review of security and protocols. He will end up making the ultimate decision on whether the worlds governments continue to fund the network.

Meanwhile Henry gets a special visit from his girlfriend Erica returns with something to tell him, he is going to be a father. Erica however is being a bit more emotional then normal and has a scuff with the UN security head Addison after he makes a remark about there being “monsters” kept at the sanctuary. Come to find out, that the baby is the cause for the outbursts and she has to remain away from Addison and the others for a bit.

One by one Addison separates each member of the team and questions them about a missing top priority abnormal that it seems the UN was seeking also, under the sanctuary’s nose. This abnormal it was thought was the one able to communicate with all 3 armies at once and the UN wanted him badly. At first Magnus explains how another team came in right before they were going to snag him and got themselves killed and Addisons lack of reaction lead Will to the realization that it was Addison who sent that team in to their deaths.

Henry learns by Erica that the UN tech team was attempting to break into secure documents Henry had hidden and he reports it to Magnus who says not to say anything yet.  Addison keeps at Magnus and Will telling them he knows the person they chased was not the abnormal and that Magnus and Will were hiding that. Magnus admitted that it was true and that they let him go back to Hallow Earth.

Addison made one final threat to pull all funding if Magnus didnt submit control to him and Magnus didnt budge and said to leave. Henry was puzzled and concerned over telling the worlds governments to take a leap. Magnus and Will were happy with the outcome, behold they have the abnormal locked away in the sanctuary, unknown to Addison or Henry. Its their final playing card, as everything is about to change.

Opinions

Good episode on its own, we get to see lies woven into truth and years of planning on the part of Magnus coming to fruition. At least the time travel had 1 advantage. Its nice to see that even with a basic side story that was all about money, the main plot still inches forward and the bigger picture becomes clear.
