Avengers Assemble…Your Bricks – LEGO & Marvel Team Up

By | Posted on 02 April 2012

Once a fun, but relatively basic set of building blocks, LEGO has become nothing less than a cultural icon.  The company has smartly managed to diversify its offerings into custom sets that seem to come out for just about every successful movie franchise released.  LEGO was also smart enough to realize they could port that customized fun into video games which are all deceivingly fun and addictive for almost anyone of any age.

In keeping with their penchant for bringing us great and geeky toys, LEGO has announced their Avengers toy lineup.  To introduce the world to the LEGO Avengers, they’ve created a duplicate of the movie’s original poster and it’s really great.  When The Avengers opens on May 4, Disney/Marvel and LEGO will give away 2 million of the LEGO Avengers movie posters at theaters around the country.

Here’s a side-by-side comparison of both the original Avengers poster and the LEGO version put together by the team at Deadline.com.  I love the Avengers, but I think I’d have to go with the LEGO poster.  What do you think?

Editor for Three If By Space. Tom first became interested in science fiction & science as a very young child thanks to his parents. His earliest memories of enjoying scifi were sitting with his dad watching first-run episodes of the original Star Trek. Although a rabid fan of nearly all forms of scripted television, some of Tom’s favorite shows are Firefly, Falling Skies, Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, the X-Files and all versions of both Star Trek and Stargate. He also has a particular love for British television and dearly hopes to one day visit the UK.

Definatly going with the Lego version here, and my nine yr old Lego fanatic agrees. Only thing the poster is missing is Loki!
