Ham Sandwich – Take A Bite, Go Back In Time

By | Posted on 02 July 2012

Ham Sandwich is a humorous short film from Atom Films & Comedy Central about a poor guy who, much like Rodney Dangerfield, never gets any respect.  Baxter is working for no pay as an intern in an office where nobody appreciates him and he just can’t seem to catch a break.  His boss puts him down, the cute office worker treats him like dirt, and when the office has a communal lunch the break room door is slammed in his face.

Poor Baxter wanders the street looking for something to have for lunch when he spies a run-down old sandwich shop (pictured above) and decides to check it out.  The guy behind the counter is strange, but friendly, and offers our mistreated protagonist a ham sandwich that ends up changing not only his life, but history itself.

With each bite of the sandwich, Baxter finds he goes back in time.  Every subsequent bite seems to throw him even farther back in time than the previous one.  Baxter uses this to his advantage to finally get his way and some payback.  The results are hilarious and unexpected.

Editor for Three If By Space. Tom first became interested in science fiction & science as a very young child thanks to his parents. His earliest memories of enjoying scifi were sitting with his dad watching first-run episodes of the original Star Trek. Although a rabid fan of nearly all forms of scripted television, some of Tom’s favorite shows are Firefly, Falling Skies, Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, the X-Files and all versions of both Star Trek and Stargate. He also has a particular love for British television and dearly hopes to one day visit the UK.
