Tom has an proclivity for getting captured multiple times every season and whether thats by humans or aliens he doesn’t discriminate. As we enter the second half of the season, Tom has to deal with a lot of changes within his family including a budding romance/love triangle, leadership challenges and a daughter who is far from normal. Weaver has had to deal with much loss over the past few seasons and this season most especially. His daughter was turned into something alien and didn’t survive that change. Weaver’s heart is also not in the best condition.
However Weaver finds himself someone to hang on to and teach about the world in Matt. As Tom is off dealing with bigger world issues, Matt is left to fend for himself when it comes to learning how to handle the dark world they live in. Weaver steps in and takes Matt under his wing as he guides him through manhood and becomes the father figure Matt never had. This sunday Tom has to deal with a direct challenge to his leadership decisions and whether or not Lexi can really be trusted.

Falling Skies was recently renewed for a 5th season with 10 episodes ordered. David Eick teased that this season will see everything we thought we knew about the Espheni be overturned and the season would end on “one hell of a cliffhanger”.
