“Attack On Titan” Studio To Produce “Seraph Of The End” Anime

Recently revealed news of Seraph Of The End getting a possible anime treatment was more than great by itself. Now to find out that WIT, the studio behind Attack On Titan, will be at the helm of the series makes it even better. If you have not started reading the series which currently appears on Weekly Shonen Jump in the US, you really should. Its story is unique and well paced. One of the biggest concerns for fans of the series is that there is not enough material released for an anime yet. The last thing anyone wants is a rushed series with a ‘fake’ or non-cannon ending to a series that is not in the manga because it outpaced it.

That is what makes todays news more promising for the series. The same concern came up with Attack on Titan but they did not rush season 2, even though there was likely more than enough material out to continue the story. Yet WIT has taken their time in bringing out season 2 of the show in favor of working on a Levi based spin off and allowing more material to come out. It was a smart move on their part. With FUNimation gaining the rights for dubbing the series in the US and Toonami airing it, the series has picked up extra Titan steam from US audiences which will only boost the series fan base come season 2.

AoT veteran Daisuke Tokutsuchi will be directing. Masashi Koizuka is assisting, with Hiroshi Seko on script and composition and Satoshi Kadowaki on character designs. Expectations are that WIT will treat the series well and not rush things too quickly.

No time frame has been given on releasing the series but hopefully we will start getting character posters, sketches and a trailer in the very near future.

If you haven’t checked the series out yet, go and sign up for Weekly Shonen Jump or visit Amazon and pickup the first 2 volumes that were released in english. Here is a description of the series.

After a catastrophic epidemic kills every adult on earth, vampires arise from the shadows to enslave the remaining human population. Yuichiro and his friends are kept as vampire fodder in a creepy underground city. Yuichiro dreams of one day fighting back, and the first step is staging a daring escape from their vampire overlords.
