Attack On Titan Season 2 Officially Confirmed for 2016

Attack On Titan

We already knew that production had begun on season 2. We also knew that an anime as massively popular both in Japan and abroad would likely get a season 2. What we finally have official confirmation on is when we will see it. 2016 seems like a long way off but for many of the manga fans and anime fans alike, most praise the long wait as a sign of the production company wiling to take their time on the series. Sometimes series will pace ahead of the manga itself and veer off the story line. Attack On Titan is going to take it easy waiting for enough material to come out that it won’t get ahead of itself in the anime.

“Yūki Kaji (Eren), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa),  Marina Inoue (Armin), and director Tetsuro Araki took the stage at Shinjuku Wald 9 for the opening of the first Attack on Titan compilation movie and announced that the second season of the TV anime is being produced to run in 2016.” according to CrunchyRoll.com. Check out the video below.

Between now and 2016, we have several Attack On Titan tasty bits to hold us over including 2 animated movies, 1 live-action film (which we just got character posters on) and a Levi-centered spin off OVA (See trailer video below). With the multiple spin offs of the manga and the expected Levi spin-off, there is plenty of Attack On Titan to go around. Volume 14 of the original manga is set to release in North America in December.
