The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies End Song by Billy Boyd

Billy Boyd, The Lord of the Ring’s Pippin, performs the ending credit song, The Last Goodbye, in the final episode of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit series – The Battle of Five Armies. Billboard.com reports. “We focused on not just the final installment, but more so on this 10-year epic adventure,” says Boyd.  “A song to sum up the six movies. We recorded in Wellington, New Zealand, at one point traveling to Auckland to Neil Finn’s studio — where we recorded some of the guitar.  It was surreal to be in his studio, as he did the song for [2012’s] The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” the Billboard article said. To hear the song, you’ll have to go to the Billboard article, which debuted it exclusively today.

Tickets are now on sale at many theatres for the December 17 opening. Who wants to join me for a three film marathon? The soundtrack by Howard Shore will be available on December 9.
