The year was 1982 when children learned to be scared of the white noise on their TV, and the phrase They’re Here would forever be used to scare the shit out of your kids. Now fast forward to 2015 and another remake of a classic arrives. Remakes seem to be the hot thing for directors to do in the past few years and most have been busts. However, there are always a few that shine far above what the original did.
After watching this trailer, I think the remake may end up being better than the original. Forget for a moment that you have a great cast that includes Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jared Harris, Jane Adams. With all the modern special and practical effects we have now, a movie like this could turn out to be far scarier than the original.
Director Gil Kenan and filmmaker Sam Raimi head up the project about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. So watch the trailer and tell us what you think.
