This months geek buy featured item is a must have for any Tony Stark or Marvel fan. Comicave Studios, known for its metal alloy figures has released a 1/12th scale Iron Man Mark XL Shotgun loaded full of features. Thanks to our friends at Bluefin Distribution, we got to review one of these bad boys and see up close just what everyone was raving about. The truth is, this is a must have addition to any super hero collection.
Price: $$
Price is always a factor for any collector and most figures range from low end <$100 ($), middle end $101-$300 ($$) and high end >$300 ($$$). This figure is set right in the middle at $140. That is a great price considering the figure 75% die-cast metal and LED light up sections with included small batteries for the LED.
Light Up LED
A rare feature for a figure in this price range is the build in LED lights for the eyes and chest. Each figure comes with a small screwdriver so you can change out the batteries but they come pre-installed. Flip a small switch on his back and he lights up.
Accessories
Interchangeable hands with flame add-ons allow you to setup your Mark 40 for just about any action shot. A Hyper Velocity Traveling Suit, the Mark 40 is currently the fastest suit of the Iron Legion, and can reach speeds in excess of Mach 5. A stand with flexible arm is included to replicate all sorts of flying and fighting poses and effect parts are included for hands and rear propulsion systems. Approx 6″ tall.
Fully Articulated
Another great thing about this figure is the flexibility of the arms, legs and torso. This figure is fully articulated and comes with a strong but flexible secondary stand arm to allow you to setup your Mark 40 in flight mode versus just standing. You can also position the arms and legs for various defensive stances.
