These all new sneak peeks give us the first events of the pilot and many of you will remember them from the movie, but when you compare the club scene between the TV series and the movie, which do you think fit the books better?
The series follows Clary, an 18 year old girl that finds out she’s part of a long line of angel-human hybrids that hunt down demons. A New York Times bestseller for 122 consecutive weeks, the series is considered a perfect fit for ABC Family. Ed Dector ( “Helix”) will serve as executive producer and showrunner for the series. Production began in May.

Unlike similar YA series “The Hunger Games” and “Divergent”, The Mortal Instruments already has 6 books out, and the expansive nature of the series lends itself more to a TV adaption where they are less likely to cut out important story points to fit it into a 2-hour movie. The 13 1-hour episodes are expected to start off with the first book and work their way through the rest as the series continues.
