Final Fantasy VII

Since its release in 1997, Final Fantasy VII has become a beloved game for many generations. Even with all the new games in the series, there was something about 7 that just made it an instant classic that people could not get enough of. Over the past 18 years Square Enix has teased and in many cases lied about its plans for FFVII up until recently. The series has finally seen a port for PS4, which came out yesterday and is available on the playstation store for around $16. So if you are ready to play the original version again on your PS4, now you finally can. Earlier this year, the company announced it would be remaking the series. Most recently there is rumor of the series going episodic and not the entire story in one single game. As many will remember the game took several disks back in the day.

With the HD overall and the massively improved graphics, its not a huge shocker to think they may split it up a bit. Footage of the new game was just released along with some actual game play. Now it seems like they may be moving quickly on the game but what is shown below is basically the first several minutes of the game, so an official release date is still a long ways away. Check out the footage an tell us your thoughts on the upcoming HD remake.

Mako Reactors are draining the life energy of the planet. The Shinra Corporation rules over a corrupt surveillance state. A few prosper, the rest are left to rot in the city slums of Midgar. That changes tonight. The elite mercenary and ex-SOLDIER Cloud Strife has been hired by the resistance movement AVALANCHE to fight back. Their mission will change the world forever.
