The Hunger Games – Soundtrack Song By Taylor Swift

The Hunger Games is still 3 months away but the soundtrack comes out this Monday. Anticipated as one of the best movies of 2012, many are praying they stay true to the book. So far, from what I am seeing, they are! On it is Taylor Swift and she plays a somber song called “Safe and Sound” which is very fitting for the tone of the first book. Listen to the new song below.

If you haven’t read any of the books (why didnt you?), read the first book before seeing the movie. It’s a great book that keeps you glued to each page as it takes you along for the ride into a cruel world where kids are used by the government to prove a point.

Summary

Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

If you haven’t seen the movie trailer. Here it is:
