Lost Girl – Episode 7 – ArachnoFaebia

This weeks episode again begins with Bo and Kenzi banter. Having their first fight over dirty dishes and weapons all over, its like they are sisters! (Just love their banter, so enjoyable.) Oh my, the scene then cuts to two real sisters, but their arguing leads to death. Here we get out first look at the Fae spider, as the sisters go at it. (totally have a odd fascination about this creature suddenly.)

Today Kenzi has taken a side gig, and Bo is tagging along for kicks. The duo enter a house up for sale, with Kenzi posing as a shaman to cleanse the house. This is a home where there were deaths in recently. Kenzi is to cleanse the house of all spirits so it is easier to sell for the broker. She begins with chantings, waiving her arms, incense, and a whole lot of hysterical nonsense as she goes from room to room cleansing. As Kenzi finish her cleansing we see the Fae spider creep into her bag lying open on a table. Once outside, Bo and Kenzi are welcomed by Dyson and Hale. The two detectives have been checking out a nearby home where there were recent deaths. (This was the deaths of the two sisters we saw at the beginning.) Dyson asks Bo for her help on his case for a switch, and she agrees to meet him later at The Dal.

Later at The Dal, Bo and Dyson sit discussing the case, apparently there has been a string of murder/suicides that he thinks is possibly Dark Fae related. He thinks whatever this is it will be big and powerful. Then in comes Lauren, whom Bo has an appointment with, and there is instant tension between the threesome. (Bo wants Lauren, Lauren wants Bo, Bo wants Dyson, Dyson wants Bo, Dyson and Lauren don’t want the other to have Bo, and no one says anything about it, there is just those odd/awkward feelings in the mix.) Meanwhile, Kenzi and Hale get to observe it all from the bar. Discussing how it is to be the sidekick! (these two have some of the best chat sessions) When Kenzi reaches into her purse and gets hurt, ouch! (hmm spider bite?) Hale thinks its just all the weapons in her purse. But suddenly she has a headache and runs out.

That night, Kenzi and Bo at home together just having a normal evening so it seemed. When out of Kenzi’s purse we see the Fae spider. It creeps up on an unsuspecting Bo in the shower. Next, morning Bo doesn’t recall anything, just has a big headache and feeling so blah. The two argue some more and then apologize. Bo does agree to go see Lauren to check out if its cause of her injections. While there Kenzi asks Lauren to also check her out. While Lauren is taking a look at Kenzi, Bo’s vision is sent haywire. For she is seeing the pair make out. Lauren diagnoses that there is something in their environment that is making them both sick. Which then starts Bo and Kenzi arguing about the state of the house again. They storm out of the lab.

Meanwhile, Dyson is working on his case and determines that they are all connected, all victims and perps knew each other. Bo comes in an lets him know that there is nothing going on in the Dark Fae side of things, but gives him a list of possible leads, then exits. Hale notices that there is a lot of webbing on the clothing from one of the victims. Dyson brings up that there was a lot of webbing at the place they visited, and that Bo mentioned there was cob webs at the house she was in also. Dyson takes a sample to Lauren at the Fae Lab. She examines it, determining that it is a old and unpleasant Fae. She is going to do further testings. While she has Dyson there she has he do his physical exam, and a nice little chat ensues.

Then back at Bo’s house she walks in griping of being itchy when Kenzi grabs her pulling her down to the ground. She explain that a large spider tried to web her in the face part of her face. It is now hiding in the basement she says, so they go check it out. Just then Dyson get a urgent call from Lauren she has found out that the cob webs are from a Djieien. It is an extremely rare nomadic native American UnderFae. It injects it victims with venom that stimulates the hypothalamus that causes hallucinations, paranoia. Which then circulates through to the nervous system causing bursts of aggression, and homicidal rage. It psychically feeds off the flood of adrenaline pheromones. The creature won’t let its victims leave the area until it is done feeding. Dyson asks what the symptoms are, she tells him and he realizes that it has Bo. He hangs up and rushes off. While Lauren has a visitor, she has signaled the alarm for containment/extermination of this creature.

Back at Bo’s place, her and Kenzi search for the spider. They are amazed by how much webbing and cob webs there are. They run out and to the front door, and see that the front door is bricked over they can’t get out. But in reality there is nothing there it is just the spider keeping them there. Kenzi and Bo argue more and more. When Hale walks in, for Dyson wanted him to check on them. But Kenzi greets him with a sword to the face and Bo knocks him over the head, since he mentioned the spider. They tie him up, and start arguing again. Bo keeps realizing that something is wrong that she is sick and needs to feed. Kenzi offers her a pastry up Bo refuses, and she bolts. Leaving Hale there unconscious, tied up, Bo feeds on him and he is vaguely aware. This seems to fix Bo, but it is to late. She goes for the door, to find it is blocked for real this time. They have been quarantined, if they leave they will be shot. Dyson arrives on the scene only to be informed that they are going to exterminate all on the scene. The Ashes new head of security does grant Dyson two hours to see what he can do. Bo calls Dyson on his cell, and informs him she feed and is better, he explains what he knows. While the two chat, the spider crawls over to Hale biting him on the leg.

Dyson goes over to give Lauren a piece of his mind, he finds her at The Dal with Trick, getting info on the Djieien. Lauren thinks there is nothing that can be done. But Dyson will not give up on them, he is going to keep trying. Trick finds out that the only way to kill it is to find its heart and destroy it. With its heart gone it cannot be killed face to face. So they much find the heart, to save the others. Dyson lets the others know of the list of leads Bo found beforehand. Trick recognizes one of the names as a fae guy whom deals with a lot of exotic animals and under fae. They agree that this must be the source of it, Trick gives them the address he has on file and off they go to check it out.

At Bo’s place Kenzi has locked her in the basement. She unties Hale saying that since the door is bricked up, he knows a secret way out. But the pair of them are still very much hallucinating, and very paranoid. Soon Hale and Kenzi are at each other, he uses his siren whistle to entice her. She denys him by putting on loud music, he keeps going after her though, when Bo comes to the rescue. However Kenzi is now after Bo. Dyson and Lauren have now found the Fae and bring him back to The Dal. He has been keeping the Djieien as a pet, that after her fill she always comes back to him. Good thing they found him cause Trick has discovered that the heart is implanted inside a host. So Trick assists Lauren, she is going to operate right there and get that heart out. Dyson tries to stall the security team that is wanting to inflame Bo’s place now and get their job done. She denys them, and begins to go ahead. Lauren then finds the heart, taking it out. Dyson encourages Lauren to kill it, she stabs it. Just in time to before Kenzi and Bo kill each other, they watch as the spider before them dies off. Lauren calls off the cleansing just in time before they cleanse Bo’s home. Afterwords, they all get a clean bill of health from Lauren at the Fae lab. Back at home Kenzi and Bo fix their place back up, and mend their friendship up. All is now good in the Kenzi and Bo friendship. Dyson pops in with some pizza for Kenzi. He explains he is worried about Lauren that she is to close to the Ash and he doesn’t trust her. But Bo says she trusts her and that is enough for her. Bo says that at least Lauren cares, can he say the same. Dyson says fine you made your decision, next time you want to heal call Lauren. Bo tells Kenzi to never change. But of course Kenzi never will!

This episode had me worried by the title ArachnoFaebia, but then they showed it and I was so fascinated by it. Weird huh? Perhaps cause it was not in my home? Who knows. Fun episode though, I just loved all the banter back and forth between everyone. The Dyson and Lauren exchanges were interesting. I think Dyson is right though, Lauren seems like she has another agenda. There is definatly more going on with her then we know. I am sure that as the season goes on we will learn more of what is really going on with her. Dyson though makes me mad at times, he needs to just give in and let Bo know how he feels. So want to stay with #TeamDyson on all this. But we shall have to see as the season progresses, I will be rooting for him though!
