Lost Girl – Season One Finale – Blood Lines

Dyson horribly awakens from a nightmare where Bo turns into Saskia whom is draining him all over again. Bo however is right there to comfort him, telling him it is alright. She apologizes for not telling him about Saskia, but Dyson is the one that wants to apologize. He has something to tell her, he tells her that Saskia is really Aife. Dyson has been expecting her to come for Bo anytime, cause Aife is Bo’s mother. Bo is clearly stunned and angered that he knew this and didn’t tell her. Dyson explains that he has wanted to tell Bo for a very long time, but the story was not his to tell, it was Tricks. Of course off to the Dal they all go. Where Trick explains that he had let Aife down long before Bo was born, he failed her. Bo insists on knowing everything. He explains that back then the fae were constantly at war with one another, Aife was in his clan. Since the fae could not find peace, Trick forced one. He was able to do this since he is a Blood Sage, what he writes with his blood comes to pass. But nothing that powerful comes without a price so he has come to learn. Aife lead a rebellion and killed dark fae clan leaders, she was captured and then escaped. Trick did not grant her sanctuary for it would have restarted the war. So he instead handed her over to the dark for execution. It was a long time though before he found out that they had not killed her. Ever since Aife has hated Trick and plotted against him for what he did to her. Bo asks Trick if he is telling her everything, and he insists that he is. Though Bo feels this doesn’t make sense, it is all to personal. Trick wants to get Bo out of town and keep her safe. She refuses to run, she wants to stand firm. Bo wants to hear her mothers side good or bad, cause she needs answers, she is ready to know who or what she is, no matter the cost.

Bo and Kenzi go back to her house where they re go over all that has just happened. Kenzi can’t believe her bullshit detector failed her. She is freaking out in a good way and Bo is in shock with it all. Even with all this Bo is super excited that she actually knows who her mom is finally. Now she just needs to find her to talk with her. Kenzi suggests that they look for her just like they would on any other case. Bo suggests that they go talk with Lauren, cause she knows more about fae lore then anyone. Perhaps Lauren knows how Bo can defend herself against Aife. So off they go to Lauren’s lab.

While Dyson still back at the Dal with Trick. Doesn’t understand why Trick has judged himself so hard all these years. Trick says he has his reasons, though Dyson feels that he did what he needed to do as King. Dyson is relieved not to have anymore secrets from Bo. Trick says it is not the time for relief, that they need to get Bo away from Aife. Trick is sure that she means Bo harm, but Dyson says he is in no position to get a favor from Bo now.

Kenzi and Bo arrive at the lab to see Lauren but she is really busy dealing with the death of a light fae elder. Bo does get Lauren to keep what she is seeking on the down low. Though Lauren only agrees to help if when this is all over that they can talk and she can finally explain her previous actions. Bo agrees reluctantly to what Lauren says. Kenzi though is off to meet a friend, who turns out to be Hale. He has only brought Kenzi there so that she can talk with Dyson. Kenzi doesn’t want to listen to what he has to say. She wants to know why she should even listen to him, after how he has betrayed Bo. Dyson exclaims because he loves Bo. Kenzi stops, and tells him that he better not make her regret this, or she will sell him for parts. Meanwhile, Bo goes back home, only to find Aife in her kitchen baking cookies. Bo explains that she is upset about what she did to Dyson. But Aife explains that she was only trying to make him one of her thralls to get closer to her. Aife says that the point is that she is here now and not going anywhere. Bo who’s been eating the cookies Aife was baking has now passed out, leaving Aife free to take her away. Kenzi and Dyson arrive to find that Bo has been taken by Aife, they go strait to Trick. He informs them that unfortunately he is now going to have to inform the fae elders that Aife is back. Trick was hoping to get Bo out of the way before he did this, now it is to late for that. Trick leaves to inform the Ash about Aife. The Ash is upset that Trick has been withholding information. He is confidant that they will have no problem dealing with a succubus or two.

A startled Bo awakens to find herself at Aife’s very large and man eye candy filled home. Bo tells her that she didn’t have to drug her to get her to come, she was looking for her already. Bo tells her mother what she knows from Trick, though Aife says he left out the best part. She explains how the Dark Fae King had a sadistic side to him. He decided it was a waste to kill a perfectly good succubus, that he would keep her alive for his own amusement for centuries. Aife says she wants to get to know Bo more and bond. Bo agrees and is more then willing to get to know her mother more.

Mother and Daughter relax and chat together. Bo is intrigued by all the male beef-cakes walking around. Aife explains that once you master the art of chi, it is easy to learn how to enslave them. Bo wonders then how come Aife couldn’t do that to the dark fae that held her. She explained that he had a amulet that keeps your chi bound to your body, she it is like Krypinite to her. Aife also explains that she didn’t declare herself to Bo right away cause she wanted to get a feel for her. She has always had high hopes for her little girl. She now wants Bo to join in her plans, she knows that Bo dislikes the divide between the fae as much as she does. Aife has plans in the works of breaking down this divide right away.

The Ash and light fae elders sit in counsel discussing what they are going to do about Aife. Though the Ash is more worried about what to do with Trick. Suddenly in walks one of Aife’s thralls he has a message from her for them. Then before another word can be spoken ‘boom’, a bomb has gone off. Just as that has occurred Bo has found out what Aife has done. Bo doesn’t want any part of that, she wants the divide broken but not like that. Bo realizes now that Aife doesn’t want to free people she wants to rule over them. Bo realizes that Trick was right Aife is crazy. As quick as she can Bo flees from there injuring herself in the process.

To Dyson she quickly goes, Bo needs to heal and get all the energy she can to face Aife again. Bo and Dyson discuss things afterwords, she is unsure how to forgive it, though she understands it. Dyson wants to help Bo against her mother, but she can’t fully trust him so he can’t come. She wants to fight her own battles, and then when the smoke clears they can go from there. Bo gears up and is off with Kenzi to visit Lauren. She explains that there was a suicide bomber, some dead, some in critical, others being moved to a safe location. Hale is involved with getting those selected to a safe location. Lauren is freaking out that Bo is at risk, she gives her information on an amulet to help her against Aife. This is the same type that the dark fae king used against Aife. It is being held in the light fae trophy room, of things passed down from Ash to Ash. Lauren says the guards are busy helping with the evac, so Bo can slip in and get the amulet to use. Before parting Lauren gives Bo a big kiss.

Bo and Kenzi go to the trophy room to search for the amulet before the guards come back. While searching for it, Bo soon realizes that Kenzi is not going to let her go alone. Seeking to keep her safe, after tenderly testing our the amulet, Bo handcuffs Kenzi so she doesn’t follow. Dyson tries to get Trick to go into hiding also with the elders, but he is not going, he is going to try to fix the mess he started. Since Bo will not let Dyson help he is going to seek the assistance of the Norn in order to help instead. Dyson says he has a history with the Norn so he doesn’t need Tricks help getting an audience. Kenzi gets a evac from Hale out of the trophy room, and goes to see Trick. Kenzi tries to get him to use his blood to help Bo, but he is unwilling to do so. He says everything comes with a price, he won’t do it again.

Bo heads back over to her Mom Aife’s she wants to reason with her once more. Aife laughs at Bo’s proposal, she rather fight. Bo and Aife unable to see eye to eye, fight it out with weapons. Neither is winning, then Aife is able to get a hold of Bo, she attempts to enthrall her. The amulet saves Bo preventing Aife from being able to harm her. This gives Bo a chance to retreat to a better location, Aife gives chase. Meanwhile, Dyson is visiting this Norn, who is one of the oldest fae’s and known for trickery. He had visited her before for a favor, but a deal was never made, since Dyson was unwilling to pay the price she asked of him. The Norn had asked for his wolf before, now Dyson will agree to give it up for Bo’s life to be saved. The Norn though leads Dyson to believe that the price is still the same, that his wolf will be taken. But with a Norn one should always be careful of their words. Dyson agrees to give the Norn what he holds most dear, what he has failed to realize, but the Norn is well aware of is that, the thing he holds most dear is his love for Bo.

Aife catches up to Bo, they struggle over a banister at the top of the staircase. At the same time Dyson is giving up what he thinks is his wolf, though with poor word choice, he instead gives up his love for Bo in order for his strength to go to assist Bo in her trial. Bo struggling to get free of Aife suddenly now feels the strength of Dyson with her and is able to get free. Aife goes over the banister, Bo grabs a hold of her. Bo is wanting to save her, while Aife wants to take Bo down with her. Trick realizing the truth in Kenzi’s words has decided to use his blood and intervene to save Bo. As Trick begins to write we see the symbols that Trick is writing on the forehead of Aife. Suddenly as Bo and Aife are speaking, Aife’s mind seems to change. Kenzi arrives to help Bo, she grabs a hold so Bo doesn’t fall with her mother. Aife agrees that Bo needs to let her go, and forgive her, and ask Trick for more information. Aife lets go and falls a few floors down. By the time Kenzi and Bo get down there, Aife is no where to be seen, just a pool of blood. They decide to get out of there while they can, and go back home.

Bo and Kenzi are left with a lot to ponder. Bo is ready for a fresh start with Dyson, and eager to do so. Though we see that Dyson still has his wolf, what he has lost was something he cherished even more. Trick obviously still has more to tell according to Aife, which means he is still lying. Bo hopes he has good reasons to be doing so. She thought he was one of the good guys, now to her it doesn’t appear that way. It is still undetermined if Aife is still alive or dead.

There are so many questions that have been answered and so many that have now come up. We still have a lot to learn about Bo and the world of the Fae! Good thing we won’t have to wait but a few days, season two starts on SyFy on Monday. No break between seasons of Lost Girl. What was your favorite part from the season one finale? What question do you want most answered during season two? Any predictions?
