New Prometheus International Trailer Reveals Much More

By now you’ve probably seen the trailer for the trailer, the actual trailer, the TED talk with Peter Weyland and the viral ad for the android series David 8 (the character played by Michael Fassbender).  One thing you probably haven’t seen is the just released international trailer for Prometheus, which for lucky movie-goers in the UK will premiere on June 1st while those of us in the US will have to wait another week until June 8th.

This new trailer has a lot of new footage in it that hasn’t been shown in any of the many clips released before.  We get more of Charlize Theron’s character, a better feel for the plot of the movie and a lot more footage of alien life!  Take a look for yourself.  After you’re done, scroll down to see the featurette, Prometheus – 30 Years In The Making.

Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

As promised, this is the featurette, Prometheus – 30 Years In The Making which gives us a little insight into how Ridley Scott goes about making a movie like Prometheus.  It has commentary from the actors discussing both the movie and their experiences working with Mr. Scott on this film.  And, yes, it has many clips from both in front of and behind the camera.

If you’ve somehow missed it or if you’d just like another look, here is the official full US trailer that was released last month.

Next is one of my favorite advertising campaigns surrounding the movie.  It’s the viral “advertisement” for Michael Fassbender’s robot character called Introducing the David 8 – The Next Generation Weyland Robot.  While the advertisement is working hard to make it all look so optimistically perfect, there’s a creepy undertone that runs throughout the entire thing that makes it ideal for this movie.

Finally, we have Peter Weyland speaking at the 2023 TED Talks.  In it he discusses technology throughout history and his own impact on it.  He’s definitely a confident character with grand plans for the future.

Prometheus premieres on June 1 in the UK and June 8 in the US.  For a complete list of premiere dates by country click on over to the IMDB Release Dates for Prometheus.
