*The following content while not perhaps not considered spoiler content by the studio does leave the watcher with certain hints about the upcoming season. That said, if you’re one of those people who hates reading ahead, all of this might not be for you. As for the rest of you, please enjoy. -N *
On Wednesday May 9th, 2012 a select group of Falling Skies press both nationally and internationally were invited to meet with Falling Skies stars Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Colin Cunningham and Drew Roy for in-person press conferences at the studio, plus Executive Producer/Writer Remi Aubuchon and ZOIC Studios Visual Effects Supervisor Andrew Orloff were available for an in depth behind the scenes look. A behind the scenes visual effects demo was included. Here is my footage from this amazing time spent in studio with the cast and minds behind Falling Skies, Season Two.
Falling Skies and TNT also over-nighted me the first four episodes of Season Two and I have to say the graphics are amazing. Seeing behind the scenes process both here at ZOIC and on set in Vancouver really helped me see how a team can pump out such amazing graphics on a television show. Phenomenal work guys, fully worthy of portraying the mind of Steven Spielberg.
Even in the first four episodes we can tell Season Two is still very much about family and the American way. Also as mentioned things are far more intense, there is a war going on out there, and everyone involved is clearly determined to make sure we feel it.
Colin and Moon are both two amazing actors I had the privilege of spending time with during my trip to Vancouver. They are both just as charming and lively as they seem in this interview and it was a delight to see them in person again. Also, I’m officially choosing you Colin for my apocalypse survival team, ye man of fire. (Such a fun roundtable, thanks you two.)
Drew was another awesome crew member I got to spend time with on and off set and of course was just as much of a delight to see again as Moon and Colin. Noah however had been busy filming and so it was great to finally meet him this time around as well. Very down to earth, and clearly all about the team over making it just about one actor, I was very happy to have the chance to chat with both him and Drew over this season’s changes for the Masons.
All in all a day well spent with great minds and personalities while getting a behind the scenes look at one of my favorite shows. You guys are really going to enjoy this season, for all the reasons listed in my article and footage, as well as the fact that each episode so far has been its own journey. I look forward to retaking that journey with all of you come June on TNT. – N
