Comic Con News: Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki talks Sam and Season 8

By: Carrie Hildebrand August 12, 2012
Convention News Jared Padalecki, Sam Winchester, San Diego Comic Con, sdcc, Season Eight, supernatural

At this year’s San Diego Comic Con, TiBS sat down with Jared Padalecki and got some much-awaited information about Sam for the coming season.

Supernatural’s season seven finale left off with Dean and Cas in purgatory as a side effect to using the ancient weapon Dean and Sam forged to kill Dick Roman, ghost Bobby finally crossed-over and Crowley took off with the genius prophet, Kevin. The impala is back, but needs some repair…again. And Sam was left alone on Earth.

By alone, I mean ALONE. Everyone Sam knows and loves is gone. Bobby has crossed-over and Dean and Cas have disappeared, but how does Sam handle the situation?

To put it simply: Sam moves on. As Jared states, everybody is gone and Sam decides not to look. For once in his life he has no reason to hunt and no feelings of guilt for not choosing to fight. Sam finally gets to lead the normal life he’s wanted. In the beginning of season eight, however, Dean returns and once together they decide they must find the missing prophet, does that bring Sam’s new, happy life to an end?

Watch the entire video on Sam and the new season of Supernatural with Jared Padalecki.
