Small review this round as this issue is all about backstory and set up. The seed being destroyed effected so many things in the Buffyverse and as we prepare to launch into Willow’s quest to set things right this issue allows us another glimpse into just how bad it is.
I enjoyed reading Angel and Whistler catching up, Whistler was very well written and had some great lines this issue. Lots of good conversation about destiny and Angel’s relationship with Buffy.
I also really enjoy Gage’s constant attention to “battle strategy” throughout the entire Angel & Faith series and the way he makes characters use unique ways to take out their opponents. Makes all his fight scenes seem incredibly smart and realistic.
All the backstory in this issue was incredibly interesting to me and I am definitely looking forward to seeing where all things involving the seed go from here. –N
