BBC America started out as a channel we yanks turned to for a healthy helping of across-the-pond programming, but it didn’t waste any time in carving out its own identity. And speaking of identity, the network has an upcoming original scripted series entitled Orphan Black about a woman named Sarah who finds out she’s a clone after seeing a woman commit suicide, and that woman looks exactly like her. Sarah discovers that she and the dead woman may not be the only clones out there and sets out to find answers, placing herself smack dab in the center of a dangerous conspiracy.
Orphan Black is set to premiere the first of its ten episode season on Saturday, March 30 at 9/8 Central. A teaser trailer for the series was released by BBC America on Christmas day. You can check it out below.

Orphan Black stars Tatiana Maslany as Sarah, the protagonist of the series. Here’s a character description of Sarah from the website.
Sarah is a natural chameleon, a born outsider living on the fringes by wits and graft. She began life in an English orphanage and was bounced around foster homes until she landed on the doorstep of Mrs. S, who finally adopted her and her foster brother Felix. When Sarah was 14, Mrs. S uprooted them under suspicious circumstances and moved them to North America. Sarah steadfastly remained the English punk, a street smart stray with a reckless streak and a loyal heart. She’s made bad choices in life, but she’s always done right by her daughter Kira, even if that meant the pain of separation. Now, all Sarah wants is to reunite with Kira and turn over a new leaf…but her encounter with Beth changes everything.
