Continuum Review: Episode 103 Wasting Time

Continuum - Season 1

Kiera is now a part of the team in 2012, her cover in place thanks to Alec. Liber8 are moving quickly to establish themselves and as they try to save one of their own, they open themselves up to discovery. Sonya or ‘queen of hearts’ (played by Lexa Doig) is killing young men by taking their pituitary gland for a reason that at first was unknown but Kiera quickly determines the reason. In 2077 the military found a way to use a mutation in that gland to create a serum that makes a super solider. In other words a super steroid.

Upon inital digging Kiera runs into Kellogg at a resturant. With her gun pointed at him, and a live bomb in his hand, they talk. He tries to explain to her that he isnt like the others and he wants to help her if she helps him. He delivers on his promise brining in the guy who would take over the group if Travis died but it didnt come without a little bit of pain.

This episode continued the action and pace we have expected from the series since its start. Many questions have been left open, including how important of a role will kellogg play now that he is helping Kiera out. His group have given him up now but they are now down 2 more soliders. At Alecs house, his step-father has meetings with what appears to be the start of a fundimentalist group, perhaps the first version or early incarnation of Liber8? Alecs future self seemed to have an idea of what happen when Kiera and the group were sent back in time, but was he invovled?

Kiera has leverage over Liber8 now, having the last piece of the device that was used to take them back in time and the only thing that can bring them forward to the proper time. The preview for next week brings back the leader of the group Edouard Kagame. Everyone thought he died in the time jump, but we all knew he would be back. The question is will he be like Kellogg and side with Kiera or will he lead Liber8 in changing the future?

Tune in next week on Syfy and sound off below and give us your thoughts and theories on tonights episode.
