J.J. Abrams is no stranger to big blockbuster franchises and while he is currently helming Star Trek and the TV series Revolution he has decided to take on a beloved classic, Star Wars (According to Entertainment Weekly, who confirmed the news). Many fans have been back and forth on their feelings towards the sale of Star Wars and Lucas Films to Disney but there is high hope with such beloved and big name directors getting behind it, that we will not have a repeat of Episode 1-3 but a repeat of Episode 4-6.
