Civilization is at its end. America has been reduced to a land where only a few, strictly-governed communities still exist. All else is Shadowland, where there is no rule of law and where fear is the common denominator of all men. Gil Parsons is a wanderer in that place, wary of the strangers he encounters, as the circumstances of his existence call into question the inherent nature of mankind.
Futuristic films have taken on a view of impending doom rather than the possibilities it could bring. Dystopian futures full of death and destruction are constantly replacing optimistic films with hopes for the future of technology and mankind. As we live with reminders of global warming and Mother Nature (and humans) constantly threatening doomsday events, it’s no surprise that this is becoming such a strong focus in films….and Shadowland is no exception, but it still looks interesting.
Created by Steven Wesley Miller (Inch of Grace) an indie film-maker based out of Knoxville, Tennessee, Shadowland delves into the “inherent nature of mankind” as it follows Gil Parsons in Shadowland. With Linds Edwards (Walking Dead, Get Low, Vampire Diaries) cast as the antagonist, Jessica Shipp (Inch of Grace) as the protagonist’s daughter and “implementing an entirely professional crew,” this film has a lot of potential for success. And you can help make it happen!
Shadowland will be shot at the end of February and this group of indie artists could use your help in paying for all the tools necessary to bring this film to fruition…including food. Just head over to their indiegogo page and donate whatever you can to help them reach their goal of $5000.
Even if you can’t donate, help spread the word so we can see their take on a dystopian future in Shadowland!
