Spence first came to my attention about a year and a half ago. I honestly can’t remember how I came across them, but then again, I can’t remember what I ate for supper an hour ago, so it’s not surprising that I can’t remember how I heard them, but they have become one of my favorite indie groups to date.
Formed in Los Angeles, Spence is comprised of members Daniel David (vocals, guitar), Seth Jared (guitar), Jordan Stricklen (lead guitar), Steven Miller (bass) and Brad Hurst (drums). In 2011 the group worked with the talents Brett Hestla (Creed, Framing Hanley, Dark New Day) to record a series of four songs and have been establishing themselves in the Hollywood scene ever since.
Spence has three EPs out: Everything You Never Wanted (2009), Til the End (2011) and Noir (June 2012) and is preparing for a 2013 tour. Their music has a rock/hard rock feel combined with the more diverse tones found in modern rock which plays right into my favorite genre of music. Check out some of their songs and if you like what you hear, head over to iTunes to support the band with a purchase or two!
