Even though Doctor Who “The Bells of Saint John” has yet to air here in the States, there are already a couple of trailers out for the next episode.  Entitled, “The Rings of Akhaten,” the second installment in this new run of episodes has not only alien beings in it, but very alien landscapes.  There’s also a very angry, very alien creature in a box…and it wants out.  Don’t they always?

Synopsis from the BBC Media Centre:

Clara wants to see something awesome, so the Doctor whisks her off to the inhabited rings of the planet Akhaten, where the Festival of Offerings is in full swing.  Clara meets the young Queen of Years as the pilgrims and natives ready for the ceremony. But something is stirring in the pyramid, and a sacrifice will be demanded.

These two trailers have a lot of overlap, but if you’re like me you can’t get enough Who even if it’s stuff you’ve seen before.

First up is the TV trailer:

The second clip is from the “Next Time” bit they stick at the end of each episode to tease you into tuning in next week.  I don’t know about you, but I don’t need any enticing to watch more Doctor Who.  Oh well, they have to do a proper job.  And they do.

This trailer is only a few seconds longer than the first and like I said it contains a lot of overlapping scenes, but there’s enough extra to make it worth watching.

Remember, kids, Doctor Who airs Saturday nights!  If you’re watching on BBC America then you’re in for an extra treat because after Doctor Who, which airs at 8/7c, you’ll see the fantastic Orphan Black followed by a very entertaining show they call The Nerdist.
