With the picture above I’m giving a little something away, but only something that’s shown in the previews for Doctor Who episode 710 “Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS.” It’s the infamous pool! The swimming pool that ended up in the library!
To be honest I wasn’t even sure that’s what it was the first time I watched one of the previews, but when I went back and paused it at just the right moment, there it was. There was the brilliant, aqua blue swimming pool!
I think every fan of Doctor Who has been wanting to see more of what’s inside the TARDIS other than the control room and a bunch of corridors. For long-time fans of classic Who, this is a treat we’ve waited decades for. Finally, all the talk about pools and libraries, with few glimpses of any of it over the years, is over. We’re going to see the inner workings and secrets held deep within the TARDIS’ interior.
At least I hope so. This better not be some elaborate tease. I’m looking at you, Steven Moffat.
A spaceship salvage team drags the TARDIS on board, sending its systems into meltdown. As the Doctor marshals the motely salvage crew outside, he realizes Clara is still trapped within his malfunctioning ship, pursued by a dangerous group of ossified monsters. He has just 30 minutes to find Clara and save his TARDIS before it self-destructs.
Enough of the rambling and on with the show! While there are two preview trailers, one from the BBC and one from BBC America, they’re almost identical this week. The trailers released usually have a great deal of overlap, but this week there’s far less difference between them than usual. They’re both still here anyway.
First up, the BBC trailer:
If you’re not home watching BBC America on Saturday nights the rest of us will be snickering about you behind your back. You’ve been warned.
