As with any post covering the future, this post could be considered spoilery.  If you’re not into learning about the future and the secrets it may bring, don’t read ahead.  If you do read ahead and you’re cross with me I don’t want to hear about it.  All I’ll say is, “Toldja so!”

The Doctor Who season seven finale is almost upon us and from what’s been learned of the episode so far some very big revelations will be brought to light.  The title alone is enough to boggle the mind.  Coming at you with a title like The Name of the Doctor is a pretty heavy blow to the senses and doesn’t seem to dance around the subject at all.  Steven Moffat has said the finale will include the Doctor’s greatest secret, but just what does that mean?

Is it his name, his origins, who he truly is, where he keeps his fez when he’s not wearing it?

We know that the Paternoster Gang of Vastra, Jenny, and Strax will be back.  From the episode poster we’ve also learned that River Song will make a return.  We also know a new and creepy enemy, The Whispermen, will be appearing in the last episode.

But what don’t we know?  I’m guessing a lot.

And we’re not the only ones seeking answers to mysteries.  Clara and the Doctor are seeking answers to who or what the other really is.  In the video below each character has a monologue about the other and you’ll get clues as to just what answers they find.  There isn’t much in the way of goofiness or humor in this video, it’s pretty dark and serious stuff.  Just the kind of thing to set the tone for a big finish.

It all centers on Trenzalore, where the truth will be found.  Dorium Maldovar, the blue-skinned black market trader first seen in The Pandorica Opens says in the episode The Wedding of River Song, “On the fields of Trenzalore, at the fall of the Eleventh, when no living creature may speak falsely or fail to give answer, a question will be asked. A question that must never, ever be answered.

Well, it looks like that question is going to get answered.  Maybe.
