A while back I vaguely remember hearing an indie band with the word riot in the name, but when I went to find it, I found Ra Ra Riot instead! They’re not the band I was looking for, but they’re pretty good too. Originating in Syracuse, NY in 2006, Ra Ra Riot currently consists of Wes Miles, Mathieu Santos, Milo Bonacci, Rebecca Zeller, and Kenny Bernard. They have three studio albums out (The Rhumb Line, The Orchard and Beta Love), four EPs (Ra Ra Riot, Can You Tell, Boy and Too Dramatic), and have released multiple singles. The majority of their music is synthpop, so it’s not really the kind of music that I typically enjoy, but maybe you will like it!
