One style of music I’ve never really covered is pop… or have I? I can’t remember, I tend to be a bit on the forgetful-side… anyway, this week I bring you Lara Johnston, a singer-songwriter pop artist. Her music in some ways, or maybe just her voice, reminds me of Pink, which may or may not be a recommendation for her talent, I suppose that all depends on who you’re talking to, but there is no denying she can sing and she can sing well. Lara has been making some rounds in the songwriting world performing duets with America’s Got Talent winner Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. as well as sharing the bill with many other talented and well-known artists such as Sammy Hagar and Willie Nelson amongst others. She was also selected from over 7,500 competitors as the first Grand Prize Winner of the Unsigned Only Competition for her song, “K.I.S.S.” and two of her songs were chosen as finalists in the International Songwriting Competition with “K.I.S.S.” winning first place in the Adult Contemporary division. Lara has yet to release her debut album, but to hold you over until then here are a few songs for you to preview and if you like them, you can be one of the first in line to buy her album and support this recent grad in her musical endeavors!
