Revolution’s Power Half Hour – Today’s Enigmatic 10

Revolution writers have conducted these enigmatic chats via Twitter  for the past several weeks. Today’s PowerHalfHour was with writer Ben Edlund. If you’re interested in participating, or just think you haven’t reached your quota of “whaaaaaat?????” you can find them on Twitter at #PowerHalfHour on Thursdays at about 11:00 am c/12:00 e; tweet any questions you’d like answered ahead of time, using that hashtag. Only about 10 questions are selected to answer, and I have to tell you, the answers are almost never enlightening! But it can be fun. Today’s Q&A:

Q1        Will we get more flashbacks of Miles as general? Specifically the “Butcher of Baltimore” nickname?

A         That’s something that would be really interesting to investigate. It’s not on the near horizon, but something I’m into.

Q2        Was Monroe based off any real life people like a Napoleon or Julius Caesar?

A         He is based on a combination of both Chaplins from “The Great Dictator.”

Q3        Where’s Grace? Why must you torture us by trying to kill Monroe? What level of Candy Crush is everyone on?

A         Grace is on planet Earth. The needs of drama. What the hell is Candy Crush.

Revolution - Season 2

Q4        Will Jason and Charlie meet up again and finish what they nearly started?

A         General rule of Kripke-verse: The more you think you want it (sic) likelier it is to occur… just look out for nice twists.

Q5        Will team Miles find another ally or are they pretty much on their own?

A         If they don’t they’re screwed!

Q6        What is a “bad penny”?

A         A “bad penny” is any coin that has been used in a gravity-related murder (see Empire State Building).

Revolution - Season 2

Q7        What can “Charloe” (Charlie & Monroe) fans look forward to in the coming episodes? More sparkage?

A         I think Monroe would be pretty worried about Miles if sparks flew. But worry is not his forte.

Q8        These guys are always out in the woods but we never see any wild animals…because of all the hunting?

A         Wild animals are terrified of production crews.

Q9        Which character/storylines are the most fun to write?

A         I’m really into the nanotech and its impact on an alternate future. I think that’s really cool.

Q10      When’s Aaron going to stop being such a punk and come into himself as a strong willed, headstrong person?

A         It’s hard for Aaron because of his giant brain. He’s over-thought every thought he’s ever had.

Revolution - Season 2

There are so many unanswered questions in this show! In the first episode of the season, Miles is seen coming out of a shack, hands bloodied, and the shack burns. What the heck was that?  How did our friends get out of the Tower? What are all the odd happenings that Aaron refers to in the first episode of S2 – starlings, fireflies? (Read Aaron’s journal to get a little- just a little – more on this.) Did you catch what Truman said when confronted with the krispy critters that used to be his soldiers – he actually said “Send them to Horn.” Know who Horn is? Want to know? Watch this deleted scene/next episode special preview! Will Monroe actually be killed next week, and possibly resurrected by the nanites? What’s happening at the Patriots’ “reprogramming centers?”  OK, those last two are really last night’s cliffhangers, and have some expectation of being answered. But still – How long has this Patriot  conspiracy been going on? Why were they building cages at the White House?

I may have reached the end of this string, and, as Miles said, have to “dial back the crazy.” What makes you nuts about this show? What are the big questions you want answered? Leave a comment and let me know – or try your luck with next week’s Power Half Hour! (Oh, and I’m on level 221 in Candy Crush, if anyone cares!)
