Doctor Who Prequel “The Night of the Doctor” Answers So Much

They’re calling The Night of the Doctor prequel video a minisode, but the only thing “mini” about it is it’s length.  At just under seven minutes you’d expect to get a cool video and a few surprises, but maybe not a whole lot of answers.

You’d be wrong.

There are more answers, action, and revelations in these seven minutes than most full episodes.  I’d like to get into the meat of this video, but that would only spoil things.  Let me just say that this is even better than you’re expecting, and I was expecting a lot.

Much like the TARDIS, there seems to be a larger story inside than you’d expect from something so short.

The Bringer of Darkness, the Oncoming Storm, the Doctor, the Warrior – A Time Lord! The 50th Anniversary features Matt Smith, David Tennant and a mysterious incarnation played by John Hurt. Only one appears in the mini episode, The Night of the Doctor. But which? 23.11.13 #SaveTheDay.

Wasn’t that just outrageously great?  Now go watch it again.  When you’re done watching it a zillion times, the good people over at BBC America’s Anglophenia blog have a great article called ‘Doctor Who’: Making Sense of ‘The Night of the Doctor’ that’s well worth a read.

Doctor Who returns November 23rd and don’t forget to #SaveTheDay!
