With only about 2 weeks to go, we’re really getting a lot of peeks into the Doctor Who 2013 Christmas Special The Time of the Doctor.  Today marks the release of even more pictures with a whopping 21 new images out.  Some of them are similar to ones released before, but they don’t want to give too much away before what’s going to be a truly pivotal episode as we say a tearful goodbye to Matt Smith.

In the above picture, the Doctor looks ready to launch some sonic justice at his foe.

The picture below is of a character known as Abramal.  Not much else is known about him except that he apparently has no modern flashlight and wears his scarf around his waist.

Meet Marta.  I’m guessing she’s Abramal’s wife, but judging by the look on her face if he’s married to her he’s probably in a lot of trouble right now.  Might be the whole “wearing the scarf around his waist again” thing.

Aww, how sweet.  Abramal and Marta look like they’ve made up.  Notice Abramal isn’t wearing that scarf around his waist any more?  Toldja.

I think we’ve seen a picture like this before.  It looks like the Doctor and Clara have just landed and are taking their first look around.  Even though Abramal and Marta are dressed in archaic clothes, there appear to be electric lights here.

Welcome party or lynch mob?  I guess it depends on Marta’s mood.

Oh, these guys have to show up and ruin everything.  At least I think they do, it’s hard to remember.

So, do Daleks remember the Silence after they’ve seen them?  It doesn’t matter because they’ll just try to kill everything anyway.

It’s a puppet show for the townspeople.  I’m pretty sure that’s a Venusian next to the Doctor puppet.  If it isn’t, it’s a very close approximation of one from the classic episodes.

It looks like the Venusian is leaning in for a snog.  These modern Doctors are all about snogging, you know.

Okay, weird fact:  The kid in this picture is called Barnable.  That’s like a cross between “Barney” and “barnacle.”  WHO NAMES THEIR KID BARNABLE?!!  I don’t care if you are alien, that’s a horrid name.

I know why this angel is weeping.  She’s freaking cold!

Doctor Harold Potter runs away from the angry Daleks.  But, really, are there any other kind of Daleks?

Oh, joy.  Now the Cybermen have to show up and upgrade everything.  Maybe they could take a few minutes to upgrade this steam-powered computer I’m using.  Didn’t think so.

Coming this Christmas to a theater near you.  It’s “Hot Tub Cybership” in 3D.  Staring into that light has got to be bad for your eyes, even evil cyber eyes.

The Silence are into karaoke?  Who knew?

I laughed when I first saw this picture because the placement of that red light makes the center Dalek look like Rudolph.  Let’s all sing.  “I saw three Daleks exterminating, on Christmas Day, on Christmas Day.”

Evil baddie Tasha Lem (Any relation to Tasha Yar?) who enjoys cosplaying as her favorite superhero “Raccoon Girl.”

A wall filled with drawings, assumedly by children, of the Doctor and many of the people and creatures he’s faced.  It kind of reminds me of what young Amy Pond did.  Damn it, now I’m sad all over again about Amy and Rory leaving.

More drawings from those darned kids.

This Silence isn’t wearing the trademark suit and tie like we’ve seen in the past.  I’m sure that’s significant, but I have no idea how or why.  We’ll just have to watch to find out.
