I’m not going to lie, I’ve been a fan of the Muppets since the old Ed Sullivan Show. I’ll be a fan until the day I die, which might be the day I watch Muppets Most Wanted. If I laugh as much in the movie as I did watching the trailer I could go out with a smile on my face, and I could live with that.
As with all Muppet affairs, this one involves a hilarious caper and is filled with celebrity cameos. The plot centers around a case of mistaken identity involving an evil doppelganger and wall-to-wall shenanigans. I’ve rarely “felt” so happy about a new movie.
Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.
Muppets Most Wanted will be in theaters March 21, 2014.
