Outlander: Bits and Pieces

Just a quick Sunday night post to catch up on a couple of things:

Earlier in December, STARZ announced that they would hold a special fan event in Los Angeles on Saturday, January 11 (I won’t be able to be there…). While the event was free to fans, preregistration was required – and filled up FAST! In fact, so many people were interested that they had to change the venue. But if you, like me, can’t afford to fly across the country on short notice, don’t despair – they have promised to live stream the event. When I have more info, I’ll let you know.

Ron answered 5 questions about Outlander on Twitter today. Short answers, but interesting!

Q         Had Ned Gowan (the Mackenzie family lawyer) been cast?

A         Yes.

Q         What is one scene in the book that you know you will NOT film?

A         The Waterhorse. (There was a short scene where Claire encountered a “waterhorse”, described as part of the witch trial.)

Q         Favorite scene you’ve filmed so far?

A         Ladies at the standing stones. (In the beginning of Outlander.)

Q         What’s your greatest challenge been, thus far?

A         Logistics. Very complicated show wth a lot of moving parts.

Q         How many episodes finished?

A         Four episodes  in the can.

If you missed it, the cast released a great Christmas video:

and a second “Gaelic lesson.”

(and here’s the first one:)

That’s all the news for right now! More soon!
