We got a lot of backstory in this episode, and oooh boy, were there some big revelations!
So now we know – Clay bit Elena and turned her into a werewolf. Even though he knew that no woman had ever survived the change, he bit her. Without telling her anything about werewolves or asking her if she wanted it, he bit her. It’s not too difficult to see why Elena might still be really pissed off at Clay. He said he did it because he loves her, but maybe someone should’ve told him that jewelry and chocolates are better ways to show love than trying to make your girlfriend into a huge magical canine.
Back in the present, the sheriff and a bunch of townsfolk come to the Stonehaven grounds to search for another missing man. Elena finds the body, changes, and drags it off the property, once again saving the Pack. But she hates every minute of it.
Daniel Santos confirms – albeit through rumors he’s heard – that Karl Marsten and his buddy Zachary Cain are turning psychopaths into wolves to try to take on the Pack, because they want territory and revenge. This isn’t exactly news to anyone, but Jeremy says he’ll consider letting Daniel back into the Pack. I still think Daniel is up to something else…
Meanwhile, Zachary is off meeting up with another recently paroled psycho named Victor. This guy, however, is different – apparently Elena helped put him in jail. There’s no question that this wacko as a werewolf is going to be really bad news for the Pack and Elena.
Diane and Philip call – they need Elena to be a bridesmaid in their sister’s wedding, and she needs to come back to Toronto ASAP. Looking for any excuse to get away from Stonehaven, she agrees. Before she leaves, Elena asks Jeremy not to call her again. He says nothing, because he knows – and she does, even when she asks – that he will. And she’ll come back. Will Elena ever find a way to accept herself and the Pack?
Back in Toronto, Philip is changing a marketing campaign for his vodka client, James Williams, because James brought him footage of Elena and Logan as wolves to use in the ads! This guy has to know something… where did he get that film? Is he trying to expose the werewolves – or just cause problems between Philip and Elena?
