Well tonight just may be a short review. Episode Captives was one of those eh episodes that just didn’t have much going one, in my opinion. Don’t get my wrong anytime the Winchester’s grace my screen I’m like a kid in a candy store, but tonight that eye candy was pretty much the enjoyment of the night.
There were angels throwing a pissing match and the brothers still at odds and Dean struggling to keep it “professional” between them. My favorite thing about the show was the fact that the Trans were back. I loved seeing ghost Kevin and bad-ass Mrs. Tran.
Kevin shows up letting the boys know that Heaven is closed and everyone who is dying is stuck in the veil. Hmmm….this makes me wonder those that were already in Heaven, like Ash, are they still there or did they get thrown out like the angels? So he shows up asking them to find his mom. He learned from a ghost named Candy that she was alive just a week prior. Of course the boys agree, they still feel guilty for his death, and off they go.
Candy tells them they she and Mrs. Tran, and some others, were being held against their will by Crowley and another. This leads them to a nearby storage place where they used the names Nicks and Mcvie, yes a Fleetwood Mac reference, to investigate. There Dean gets ambushed by Crowley’s partner, a young demon, and Sam finds Mrs. Tran.
Cas on the other hand has been taken by Bart and his merry band of angles. Bart tries to make a case that they should unite and bring order to angels and hunt out Metatron, but when Bart tortures a peaceful angels and then kills him Cas isn’t having it. The two fluffy their wings at one another and Cas wins out killing Bart, but of course in self-defense. After leaving Bart’s faction he is sought out by some of the followers who thought they didn’t have a choice but to follow Bart and his power. They want to follow Cas. Wow, remember when Cas thought he was God? Could it be his time finally?
In the end the boys reunited Kevin’s ghost with Mrs. Tran. She is taking with her the item, Kevin’s dad’s ring, that is binding him to the bunker and she plans on keeping him safe for as long as she can and he plans on not letting her out of his sight. Before he leaves he finally gives the boys some great advice. He makes them promise to put the fighting and hard feelings aside. His mom is taking home a ghost but both Sam and Dean are still alive. The Winchester’s agree, but it appears that they aren’t good at keeping their word any longer because as soon as the Tran’s leave Sam walks away from his brother.
I just feel like screaming. We need the Winchester’s back to their old selves. This prolonged fighting is just crap…crap I tell you.
Well until next week my Wayward family…be safe and happy.
