S.H.I.E.L.D is back this week, and it picks up right where “T.R.A.C.K.S.” left off, Skye in serious danger after being shot by Ian Quinn. We learn pretty quickly that Skye is dying and the only option the team has is to search out the miracle cure that saved Coulson. Turns out the Clairvoyant wants that too.
Is it just me or does anyone else think the Clairvoyant is a woman, there is something strange about the purpose of everything and the name Clairvoyant just sounds feminine. I know they always refer to it as a he, but I still can’t help but thinking it’s a woman.
Back to the episode, soon the team is joined by some tough looking special forces type agents (Ward’s former SO played by Bill Paxton) who are here to take Quinn. After learning that they need help trying to save Skye they valiantly agree to help. After much back and forth about not knowing where to go, no doctors to talk to, and not even knowing where to go they catch a break and find the coordinates to a secret bunker called the Guest House. Coulson and Co head in to find the drug that will save Skye’s life. After taking out the bunker’s guards they realize the place is set to blow. Coulson and Fitz head off the find the drug before they blow up, and find it they do in a biohazard room, which seems ominous to me. Coulson sees the room they treated him in, and finds the source of the miracle drug-which seems to be some kind of alien. Skye gets the drug and immediately starts improving.
The end of the episode featured a small set up for next week. Some Asgardian warrior is wandering Death Valley and enchants a newlywed to take her someplace else. We don’t know anything about her except her name is Lorelai. The promo for next week’s episode, “Yes Men” tells is that Lady Sif from “Thor” movies is coming to help S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to contain a woman who can make any man her slave. I will say I’m looking forward to this, and in the future I hope to have less of these kind of episodes where nothing is for certain than ones with alien tech and monsters to fight.
