Our fractured group of survivors have slowly been finding each other all while heading to Terminus, the place selling itself as the zombie apocalypse equivalent of The Promised Land. At the end of episode 415, Us, Glenn and Maggie were finally reunited and their group found its way to the surprisingly clean, empty, and NOT EVEN REMOTELY SECURED Terminus. It was surreal and suspicious and I’d get the hell out of there. The one-liner description for season four’s final episode, A, makes me even more skeptical that the phrase “the end of the line” means anything good.
As multiple paths collide, Rick comes face to face with sheer brutality. Will he and the group have what it takes to survive?
This promo certainly isn’t filled with reunions and tears of joy. Instead, it’s got a cold and ominous Big Brother-like voiceover, “Sanctuary for all. Community for all. ” This is followed by multiple utterances of “Terminus,” and closed with, “Those who arrive survive.” The words alone sound comforting, but presented in that cold, mechanical voice makes it sound downright menacing. This is compounded by video filled with running, fighting, biting, and the apparent return of Crazy Catatonic Rick.
The sneak peek is a lot less Dawn of the Dead and a lot more Andy Griffith Show with Rick showing Carl how to make a simple snare trap. That is until Carl decides to run straight toward potential danger the instant they hear screaming.
