There is a lot of stuff going on in this second issue of Buffy season ten, so let’s jump to it. This review contains spoilers.

The fight with the most annoying new fangled vamps, who shift shape and can fight in the sunshine is wrapping up. The toothy gang retreats as they are outnumbered by Buffy and her posse. But they swear they will like Arnie, be back and that Buffy is old hat. She doesn’t like being called old…
After some Giles reunion talk, lots of stories unfold. You will be glad to know they wrap up that dropped storyline of your friendly vampire hunting policeman Dowling, who Buffy suddenly remembered ditching in the middle of a patrol-date thingy. Oops she forgot to visit him in hospital. Oh well nevermind, he ain’t too bothered, but he promises to keep his eyes open for mote of these new vamps. Buffy is a bit miffed that Dowling isn’t at least a bit heart broken about her ditching him and pours her heart out to Spike about what a train wreck she is when it comes to relationships. Oh yeah he doesn’t really wanna hear this and goes of to the pub
The good book of Vampyr was a bit messed up you may recall. Giles is on the case and figures out it seems to be rewriting itself. You can now be the chosen one or decided to be chosen…confused? That’s ok so are the scoobies. But maybe this explains why Billy is having visions of the first slayer.
It is decided that in order to figure out these shape changing vampires, Xander and Dawn go for a visit to Dracula. On the plane Xander voices his worry that Dawn will break up with him as she seems very distant. He is telling all this to the ghost of Anya! She has no idea why she is haunting Xander, nor does she seem to happy about hearing his sob story about Dawn.
Oh yeah I forgot, when the fight at the start broke up Koh showed up to bid farewell. He then hints at that Illyria might not be dead after all. Let’s hope so as I do have a fondness for the angry smurf God.
Right, I probably missed lots, so you really need to go out and get this issue for yourself. It is a good ‘un and it is still bodes well for the future of season 10!
