S.H.I.E.L.D. 1×16 Turn, Turn, Turn Review

This week’s episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. deals with what happened in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Our agents don’t have anyone to trust and our agents are on a search for a mole within S.H.I.E.L.D. In their search for the mole they turn to May when they discover her secret sat line.

Once Coulson and Skye realized that the clairvoyant wasn’t a psychic they were a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent with high level clearance they decide to look at their own team. May is the obvious choice following the discovery that she’s been spying on them and reporting to someone, but when the bus changes course they decide to break into the Hub and find who is behind the leak.

When Agent Garrett is fired upon by S.H.I.E.L.D. planes he comes aboard the bus as they discover that Hydra is behind this recent attack and Victoria Hand is leading the charge. Since Simmons is still inside the hub they decide to storm the castle as it were to rescue her and secure S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. As the bus heads towards the hub, May tries to contact Director Fury on his direct line only to be told that he is dead. Seeing no other options Skye secures all the files and they move to take down the hub.

After a tender moment between Ward and Skye, which I am not rooting for by the way. Ward has too many secrets and kills too easily without any second thoughts. He takes down a dozen guys and Skye and Ward move to blow up the command center.

In a intriguing turn of events, it seems that Agent Hand is not working for Hydra, and Agent Garrett, which we discover as he tries to take out Coulson, May, and Fitz. Fortunately the surviving agents at the Hub take down Hydra members and Ward offers to escort Garret to the Icebox. Seems that I am right about Ward and he still has some secrets. Either he is brainwashed or he is a member of Hydra as evidenced by him killing Hand and two other agents.

Now that S.H.I.E.L.D. is dismantled, Coulson takes his members and restores the bus so they can continue surviving. Seeing that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will tie so heavily into the Marvel universe hopefully this will inspire viewers to tune in so we can get a second season, with plenty of time to have all of our questions answered.
