It is safe to say that the word Serenity does not describe this latest issue of Serenity very well, there is fighting and fighting and more fighting. This review contains spoilers.

Actually it won’t contain that many spoilers as most of the action, is indeed action rather than much plot development.
Mal and gang fight brainwashed chicks who gets close to killing him. But with some help from the New resistance they manage to escape taking a operative and the shaved-angry-killing-machine-River-lite-woman with them.
Mal then plans to use River’s physic powers to extract from the operative’s mind where Zoe is kept.
I felt this episode was perhaps a bit too fighting driven. We find out nothing about how Zoe is getting on in this issue at all.
Don’t get me wrong I am still enjoying Serenity a lot, I think it is very well written. I am maybe struggling a bit with the character artwork as at times it is hard to see the likeness to the “real” people playing the part of the TV series. But it is still over all very enjoyable.
It will be interesting to see were it is heading after they have freed Zoe, if Mal will take up some form of leadership of the new resistance. If so will the comic be less about heists and capers and more about overthrowing the government? It certainly look like it could be heading that direction. I guess we can just wait and see.
