The drama builds between Kiera, Carlos, and Alec as they all come to terms with their situations in “Minute of Silence”. Kiera was faced with dealing with an unknown amnesiac who only remembers her name and nothing else about himself. Carlos shares the secret of Green Kiera being killed with Green Alec. Alec finally comes up with a settlement between he and Kellogg that keeps them both out of the courtroom. And you thought your life was messed up?
“Minute of Silence” was a solid and coherent episode but didn’t offer much else. The story began with Kiera in the future checking out an illegal “de-citizenship” operation. The operators basically sucked the citizenship chip out of your arm and made everything about your identity null and void. Of course Kiera, being loyally with CPS, shut it down and even though the people there who hadn’t yet participated were technically free of guilt, she was forced to book them for “intent”. These future law enforcement men are real hard butts.
A break in, seemingly an inside job at how flawlessly it happened, turned into an interesting situation between Lucas and Carlos. Lucas handed Carlos a freebie about where to find the kid behind the robbery but will it come back to bite him in the butt later? The thief got his hands on a device that could remotely control EVERYTHING. Cameras, alarms, EVERYTHING. And when he was finally discovered he was quick to give up his boss.
Alec finds that some of his employees are slowly going missing and he has Kellogg to thank for that. Kellogg has him in his grip though considering Alec did sign a contract stating a no competition rule as well as that Kellogg owned 49% of whatever came from SadTech. Alec would most certainly lose in the lawsuit he was eventually served by Kellogg and he was smart enough to come to an agreement with him before things got REALLY ugly between the two of them.
One of the most interesting things that happened was Carlos bringing Alec to where Green Kiera’s body was and showing him the truth about her death. Alec was still unaware anything had happened and this might have further pushed the wedge down between the two of them. Kiera picks up on him acting weird after Carlos showing him but can’t figure out what’s caused it. Alec later returns to the body and starts drilling in her back (or so it looks). What exactly are you looking for in a dead person’s body?
Ryan Robbins (currently a recurring character, Tector, on TNT’s Falling Skies) plays an amnesiac in this episode who has woken up after being injured with no recollection of anything about his life. The only thing he can remember is the name Kiera Cameron. When he’s finally being released from the hospital he has no one to call but Kiera who reluctantly takes him along to hopefully find something to trigger his mind. They find his home but there’s nothing to go off of, they take walks all over the city that renders nothing, and they go to a spot in the city that he somewhat remembers what sounds like a struggle but nothing solid to go on. Who is this guy?! Kiera couldn’t match him to anything on her CMR and Alec wasn’t able to dig up anything on him so in all essence, he’s a ghost. His story is set to continue.
“Minute of Silence” was a good episode but the season as a whole has been off to me, but maybe that’s just my own perception. The characters and the storylines aren’t flowing as they usually do. However, tonight’s episode finds Green Kiera’s body missing. Presuming she didn’t come back to life in some time-altering phenomenon, the first suspect is Alec considering he was last drilling through her back for something. Carlos is most noticeably upset about it even though his weird obsession with sitting next to her body and drinking is beyond creepy. Alec hasn’t quite settled into his role at Piron either despite an attitude change and it’s almost as uncomfortable to watch him make the transition as it is for the character to do it. What did you think of “Minute of Silence” fans?
