Unboxing FUNimation’s ‘Attack On Titan’ Part 1 Collector’s Edition

By: Robert Prentice
Attack On Titan

So I previously reviewed episode 5 of Attack on Titan and commented that we felt it was far better than The Walking Dead, and my opinion has not changed. I am going to marathon my way through the rest of the first half of the season with the collectors edition of part 1 from Funimation. If you are a huge AoT fan, this collection is one you will want to pick up and you can only get it direct from FUNimation. Besides getting the first 13 episodes in english dub on 2 DVDs and 2 Blu-Ray Disks, you get some really great goodies with the collection.  The first two items are necklaces: 1 of Eren Jaegers key necklace and the other a replica of the flesh paring blades. The chain on the blade is a nice metal chain, while the one for the key is not as nice. The key itself is great and can be swapped out on to another chain easily.

The really cool items are the 4-pins, one for each of the divisions MP, Scout Regiment, Garrison and Cadet Corp. All are heavy duty metal with good backings and really clean looking. Inside the DVD case is a “Notes From Beyond The Wall” 24-page booklet including great photos, behind the scenes information and character profiles. Checkout the complete list of goodies and don’t forget to pickup your copy from FUNimation before they run out. The set will set you back $96 but considering all the exclusives you get with the set, its well worth it for any AoT fan.

About Attack On Titan

When the man-eating giants called Titans first appeared, humans retreated behind massive walls. After a hundred years of safety, a colossal-sized Titan smashes through the defenses, unleashing a flood of giants and carnage in the streets. Eren Jaeger watches helplessly as one of the creatures devours his mother.

He vows to kill every Titan walking the earth.

Eren and his surviving friends enlist to fight against the insatiable monsters. The future looks bleak, but there’s more to Eren than meets the eye: he may be humanity’s last hope against extinction. From the director of Death Note and High School of the Dead comes the series Anime News Network calls “an intense, visceral, and graphic thrill ride.” The Titans have come to feast. Anything can happen. No one is safe.
