There were so many things I was looking forward to on my first visit to San Diego Comic Con. But out of all the television shows and movies making appearances at Nerdtopia the project that piqued my curiosity the most was the science fiction dramedy Nobility. If you were there, but couldn’t make the panel, or if you just couldn’t make the convention at all we’ve got the full panel right here for you and you don’t have to wait in any lines!
You see, Three If By Space is a genre site by fans, for fans and that is exactly what Nobility is, too. It’s got a ton of big names in it and the look of a big-budget space adventure without breaking the bank. The comedy is not as over the top slapstick as Red Dwarf nor is it as serious as any of the Trek franchises. What it is is a perfect balance of action, quirky characters, and comedy that, thanks to the sharp writing of creator E. J. De la Peña, creates a show containing all the best elements of just about every science fiction franchise before it.
One of my favorite discoveries about Nobility is just how much fun everyone is having while making it. From the very start of the panel it’s clear that they’re all enjoying themselves on this project. Like we fans, they all want to see a resurgence of space-based adventures on television so instead of waiting around for someone else to do it they’ve taken the initiative and created such a show themselves. That’s what I call real fans.
By now you’re asking yourself, “Where can I watch ‘Nobility‘? I need it now!” Patience, young ensign. It will come soon enough. The distribution plan is to shop the series around to online sources where you’ll be able to watch the show when you want, how you want, and on the device of your choosing. Of course, if any big studios are smart enough to see what a jewel of a show this is the good people behind Nobility would gladly collaborate with them to bring the show to as many fans as possible.
One thing you do not want to miss are the links below. The Nobility website has loads of information about the show, the cast, and the crew, plus hilarious video clips and beautiful still photos. Like (Don’t lick. Consider yourself warned.) them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter (Stalkers welcome!), subscribe to their YouTube channel (Watch pantsless if you want, they don’t mind. Actually, they probably prefer it.), and most of all SPREAD THE WORD!
