So we have a stand alone issue of A&F this time, and Angel is flying solo, Faith is left is the states doing something else that we don’t get to see. So just captain broody forehead. That’s OK though because it is still good. We got a guest artist this time in the form of Derlis Santacruz (who is also working on the new Spike comic Swooooon) so things are looking a bit different again, but they are still looking good, the writing is still good and it is still very enjoyable.
What happens then you ask, OK OK let me get to that. Angel has a weird dream where he in Angelus form is setting fire to a whole convent and a bunch nuns. He is a bit weirded out by the dream and heads out. Out and about he runs into a friendly neighborhood cop err should that be bobby as we are in London, although I’ve lived 14 years in the UK and never once heard a police being called a bobby…Right sorry! The POLICE MAN enlists Angels help with some pesky vamp who is stalking prey outside a fancy shop on Bond street (probably not Primark)..yes..outside..in the day time..oh uh..With some help of Gileses aunties (gotta love them) who acts as helpless victims Angel traps the vampire who turns into a bat, then smoke..but then meets death by beheadedness. Hrmmm says Angel, what is this now, vampires behaving like Dracula and prancing around in daylight? He wonders if he should call Buffy, but doesn’t (durrr he could have found out quick smart what was up with these new rules vamps if he did, silly broody man). It ends with a newspaper clipping showing of a mysterious fire in a convent…oh dear…
