Ascension: New Photo Gallery – “Retro” Rockets

TV Previews Ascension, image gallery, photos, Science Fiction, scifi, space, syfy

So far, everything I’ve seen and heard about Syfy’s Ascension only makes me more excited for the premiere.  The mini, or event, series will air over three consecutive nights, beginning on Monday, December 15 at 9/8c and continuing on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

This gallery of 13 images from the show continues to bring a real sense that we’re seeing something from another era.  There’s plenty of technology about, but it’s all a little dated – as are the clothing, hairstyles, and general items you see in the photos.  It gives the show a nostalgic feel while being something completely new.  I think this is going to resonate very well with viewers of all ages, and if it does we could be looking at a full-blown, recurring series.

I’m calling it the next Battlestar Galactica.  Can I get a, “So say we all” from you guys?

Show synopsis:

In 1963, the U.S. government launched a covert space mission sending hundreds of men, women and children on a century-long voyage aboard the starship Ascension to populate a new world. Nearly 50 years into the journey, as they approach the point of no return, a mysterious murder of a young woman causes the ship’s population to question the true nature of their mission.

Senior Editor for Three If By Space. Tom first became interested in science fiction & science as a very young child thanks to his parents. His earliest memories of enjoying scifi were sitting with his dad watching first-run episodes of the original Star Trek. Although a fan of nearly all forms of scripted television, Tom’s preferences skew heavily toward hard science fiction.
