When I say this trailer explains a lot, I only mean when compared to previous trailers, which were all pretty vague. Even so, they were all tantalizing enough to spark interest in the film. Now, with it just a month away from its premiere date, this latest Interstellar trailer gives us more scenes that help explain the general plot of the film. That’s very helpful since the brief synopsis of the movie (found below) is, like the previous trailers, somewhat vague.
In this trailer, we learn the Earth is pretty much dying and something needs to be done. That something is to travel to another star system, apparently in another galaxy at that, to find a planet that can support life so that the human race can survive. Hmm, I guess it doesn’t really tell us more, but we do get to see some pretty pictures of stars and one hell of a wave.
In the world of Interstellar mankind doesn’t have the technology to travel faster than light, but it seems we got lucky because a wormhole just happens to be near enough for us to travel to, and through. Good thing the other end comes out near a fresh planet full of hope, fresh air, and probably some kind of killer alien creature that likes to eat human faces for fun. Or not.
DescriptionWith our time on Earth coming to an end, a team of explorers undertakes the most important mission in human history; traveling beyond this galaxy to discover whether mankind has a future among the stars.
Interstellar premieres in US theaters on November 07, 2014
