This brand-new trailer for the Doctor Who series 8 finale, Death in Heaven, opens with an homage to a classic Twilight Zone episode. As the Doctor and Kate Stewart are aboard a U.N.I.T. plane, a Cyberman pokes his face square in the middle of one of the plane’s windows.
I don’t care if it’s a Cyberman, a creature terrorizing William Shatner, or a cute, fluffy bunny rabbit – anything that sticks its face in a plane window FROM THE OUTSIDE WHILE THE PLANE IS FLYING is going to scare the ever living crap out of you. I mean, it just never gets old. And that’s just the beginning of the terror.
Missy’s plans to destroy the entire human race are moving forward. The Doctor is joined by Kate, the asthmatic Osgood, and the entire U.N.I.T. team to try and save the Earth … again. The Cybermen have been upgraded, apparently by stealing technology from Stark Industries, because they’re flying around like an angry swarm of Iron Men. Oh, and I’m afraid the dead might be rising everywhere on the planet, probably as Cybermen. Or maybe CyberZombies.
With Cybermen on the streets of London, old friends unite against old enemies, and the Doctor takes to the air in a startling new role. Can the mighty UNIT contain Missy? As the Doctor faces his greatest challenge, sacrifices must be made before the day is won.
