Doctor Who Christmas Special 2014 – Teaser Trailer

“It’s Christmas, the North Pole. Who you gonna call?”

What could be more appropriate at Christmas than a man named Nicholas Frost playing Santa Claus?  It’s like he was born to play the part.  The actor, probably best known to audiences from his adventures with Simon Pegg in Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End, really fills out the role well in this clip.  His beard could be a little “beardier”, but otherwise he makes a fine Santa.

Okay, that’s just gross. Go brush your damned teeth. You *do* have teeth, right?

This teaser clip, as the name implies, is just a tease of what’s to come.  It’s not nearly enough to satisfy my curiosity about the Christmas Special, but I have no doubt there will be plenty more to come.

There’s a definite The Thing vibe in the trailer.  A research base in a frozen wasteland, dark and spooky corridors, and some alien menace that’s looking to eat your perfectly good face for dinner.  What little we see of this creature is fairly disgusting as it seems to be rich in yummy mucus.  What we don’t see is who’s traveling with the Doctor for this Yuletide romp.  Will there be any familiar faces or will the old man be flying solo for the holidays?

Keep checking back for any and all updates on everything Doctor Who-related.

The Doctor Who Christmas Special will air, well … on Christmas.
