“This whole project was one, big lie, told to six hundred people.”
We went into this whole Ascension thing with the assumption that it was a straight-up space drama, but when we opened the hatch we got so much more than that. By the time the phenomenal two-hour premiere was done, I had to enlist the help of my dog to find my jaw, which had fallen to the floor a couple of dozen times during the broadcast. Besides being incredibly well-written, the show has more twists than a case of Twizzlers accidentally tossed into an automated twisting machine that’s been set to “Extra Twisty”.
If you’re not already in the throes of full-on space madness, then check out the latest promo for Ascension’s second installment. If you thought part I was insane, part II promises to put it to shame. Serious shame.
The truth certainly wasn’t what we were expecting, but it was an awesome surprise and the crazy premise opens up a universe of possibilities. I honestly don’t know how I’m going to sleep tonight after watching Ascension – Part II. But, hey, if you’ve got to have insomnia, this is the most entertaining way to get it, hands down.
