Doctor Who: Last Christmas – Watch the Quick and Creepy New Trailer

This just released and all-too-short 2nd trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas Special: Last Christmas gives us a few new peeks at the upcoming episode.  Judging by Clara’s surprised look and the Doctor saying, “I’m back”, the pair must have spent some time apart, but they’re together again for the holidays, walking in a winter wonderland … OF DEATH!

With Doctor Who we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We still don’t get a good look at the “monsters” of the episode.  From what little is shown, they look a bit like eyeless, mucus-mouthed cousins of the Silurians.  I really hope I didn’t offend any Silurians out there.  Really, Silurians are an honorable bunch and would certainly not be caught dead covered in their own mucus.  If these guys are related, they’re obviously the ne’er do well crude cousins nobody invites to dinner.

As has been pointed out before, the episode feels like Doctor Who meets The Thing meets Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.  Okay, maybe I was a bit hasty including that last film in the list, but if the shoe fits …

It’s Christmas in the North Pole when the Doctor and Clara return to BBC AMERICA in an all-new Christmas special, ‘Last Christmas’. This year the Time Lord and his companion are in for an all-new adventure as stars Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman are joined by Nick Frost (The World’s End, Shaun of the Dead) as Santa Claus. Doctor Who: Last Christmas premieres Thursday, December 25, 9:00pm ET.

The Doctor Who Christmas Special will air on Christmas day on BBC America at 9/8c.
